I wished this was just a soft ball with no more solid core with a bell inside, as it is so hard to find those anymore and they are the favorite of one of my kitties who only likes very soft ball shaped toys. The size will be great for teaching kitteh how to play catch. I've never even thought of that before as cats don't tend to return the ball. This will not roll easily but is a great big soft ball and has some movement from the fringe. I like the level of softness and quality. It should last and be just the right size for our BIG Maine Coon cats, but even our pipsqueak domestic short hair loves it.
